Eyes in Movement / Sanchez, José

Sanchez, José, «Eyes in Movement». Performance Research, 8,  4, (2003), pp. 92-99

Abstract
The article focuses on the communication between the moving bodies of performer and the camera capturing their movements. The audience looks on bodies sometimes upright, sometimes naked, sometimes stretched out on the marble floor, sometimes retreating towards what remains of the altar, where they seek to enter into intimate dialogue with a tiny camera. A natural consequence of the relocation of the camera into the choreographic process. Incorporation here means to convert the camera into a body part, and to adapt movement to this new way of seeing which is controlled by the hand.
