Abstract
The article explores the idea of photography as a representational art form. The author responds to the essay “Photography and Representation,” by Roger Scruton, and suggests that photographs do serve as representations. The author also discusses the representational aspects photographs in relation to casting for films and theatrical productions. Other topics addressed include the aesthetics of photography, representation in photography in comparison to other art forms, and photographs as independent from the objects they represent.
