Abstract
The author tells of his iriterest in conveying thefeeling of motion by means of still photographic images. He has constructedsimple sculptural mobiles for use as moving subjectsfor photography. Thesestatic images on photographic prints or slides he calls metaforms. Simpleforms made of wire, paper, wood, etc. suspended by a thread andforms suspended in a manner of some of Calder’s well known mobiles are preferred. A wide range of metaforms may be achieved by varying the design of the mobile, its kind of motion and speed, and the photographic technique.
