Abstract
The article focuses on the theatricality of the works of Diane Arbus. According to the author, theater also depends on the existence of a real physical body such as the actor. He added that the camera’s theatrical qualities can be linked to a power to metamorphose, to foster a tension between what is real and what is constructed and to function as a mediator. Moreover, the photographs of Arbus focuses on the theatrics of West and her space. He also emphasized, that her works demonstrates a form of documentary theater based on the record and reconfiguration of external stimuli.
